We Can Never Sweep Airport Security Capos Arrest Under The Carpet

Former National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Anthony Abayifaa Karbo, says the arrest of Solomon Adelaquaye, Head of Sohin Security, one of the companies providing security detail at the Kotoka International Airport, in the United States for allegedly dealing in illicit drugs has major negative implications for the country. If a security capo who also owns a security company at the airport has been busted for trafficking drugs, then this will have a huge security and political implications on the country. We are all shocked this could happen. We can never sweep under the carpet what has happen recently, he said. The NPP youth activist wondered how the Sohin boss was able to sneak through and bypass all the security detail at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) with the cocaine without being detected by security personnel manning the place. How was he (Solomon Adelaquaye) able to transport the heroin? Heroin is not produced in Ghana. So if a car park security official can meet a client with a lap top at the boarding section after going through all the security check points without anyone noticing, then it tells you how porous our security system at the airport is, he said. Though the Justice Department of the United States has revealed it will be pushing for the maximum sentence of life imprisonment of Solomon Adelaquaye and his accomplices after they were busted in the U.S for drug trafficking, Anthony Karbo aka Afghanistan still maintained whiles contributing to discussions on Adom FM that government launch an enquiry into the matter. Its good the Americans would want to prosecute him there. So what is our Narcotic Control Board (NACOB) telling us here in Ghana? We here in Ghana must also know and investigate the circumstances under which a car park security official could sneak in whiles immigration, National Security and NACOB agents who had mounted surveillance at the place failed to apprehend himThere are major problem and those problems must be looked at as soon as possible, he advised.
