Addison Must Relate His Questions To How The Irregularities Affected Declaration Of Electoral Results

A Member of Parliament for Juaboso constituency on the ticket of the ruling National Democratic Congress, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh has opined that the petitioners lawyer Philip Addison is not helping the court proceeding because it is the expectation of Ghanaians to hear questions on areas in evidence where they claim votes belonging to their Flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo were added to that of President John Dramani Mahama. In his candid opinion, Lawyer Philip Addison has not asked any question which has cast a slur on the credibility of Dr. Afari Gyan. The former NDC Regional youth organizer pontificated on Okay FM that Philip Addison must relate his questions to how the irregularities the petitioners are basing their argument on can affect the declaration of results on the Presidency. In view of the irregularities in the 2012 election, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh said that there is no election under the universe which has not recorded irregularities but to him the point should be on whether such irregularities affected the 2012 election result declaration. He hinted that the fundamental point on which the judges are looking out for is how those irregularities affected the declaration of the result made by Dr. Afari Gyan; adding that the issue where the presiding officers signed the pink sheets later after the political party polling agents have signed cannot affect or change the accepted results which are declared. To him, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, Principal Witness for the petitioners must be pardoned for making issue out of the fact that presiding officers did not sign the pink sheet even though the results which their party agents signed were accurate. He accused the NPP of failing to educate their party agents on electoral process; and attributed their defeat in the 2012 elections to their failure to train their agents on how to monitor the transportation of the results to the collation centers.
