Assembly Vows To Go By The Ideology Of NDC

The Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District Assembly has vowed to go by the ideology of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to make available resources to facilitate the growth and development of the institutions in the district. The Assembly has, therefore, urged people in the communities to bury their differences and endeavour to tolerate each others views in running the affairs of the district to help government to achieve its Better Ghana Agenda. Mr. Mumuni Isaac Dramani, Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District Chief Executive, who made this known during the inauguration of a GH99,000.00 boys dormitory project for the school on Thursday, noted that there could not be any meaningful teaching and learning in a suspicious environment. He called on the people to come on board with workable plans and strategies to help the school to grow and provide the best education for the youth to contribute their quota to national development. The boys dormitory block, which we are handing over today, is one of the numerous interventions we have made in the district to make it easy for our youth to have access to education, he said. Mr. Dramani announced that efforts were being made to renovate some of the teachers bungalows and also provide access roads in the school to facilitate the movement of students in the campus. He said there were plans to turn the school into a model one and called for concerted efforts to make it a reality. The District Chief Executive urged authorities of the school to work together and maintain discipline among the students to enhance academic performance. Mr. Dramani announced that the Assembly had awarded the Assistant Headmasters bungalow on contract for renovation work to start soon at a cost GH11,000.00. On the abandoned administrative block, Mr. Dramani said the Assembly would find out from the Ghana Education Trust Fund about the contract and bring back the contractor to complete the project. In a related development, Mr. Dramani commissioned a GH13,500 borehole at Nyuroyiri out of the 15 boreholes that were being drilled in the district for the people to have access to potable water. The District Chief Executive said the Assembly needed to provide 113 boreholes to meet the water requirement of the people and appealed to non-governmental organizations to come to their aid.
