Late President Mills Would Have Been Embarrassed If He Was Alive

A member of the Communication Team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Hopeson Adoryeh has attributed the victory by former Attorney-General, Martin Amidu in the Waterville judgment debt ruling partly to the efforts of Assin North MP, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong for bringing the matter up. According to him, instead of the NDC party then in government taking up the case, they had wanted to sweep the case under the carpet; but the fortitude of the former A-G to insist on the truth when it was evident his government was not willing to go after the money travailed. Speaking on Okay fm, he said that Hon. Martin Amidu was sacked by the then Chief Of Staff of the late President Mills under the excuse of misconduct at the cabinet meeting when in actual fact, it was because of his penchant to tell the truth always. The NPP Youth activist pontificated that though he will not like to severely censure the late President Mills because he is dead, he was cocksure that he (Mills) would have been deeply embarrassed to see Martin Amidus court success; for sacking a person who is so committed to fighting corruption irrespective of the government in power. He further warned all NDC activist who benefitted from the judgment debt payment to quickly take steps to refund the monies; charging that Ghanaians are giving the Mahama administration some grace period to retrieve the Waterville Holdings monies as directed by the Supreme Court, failure to do so will result in some concerned Ghanaians hitting the streets in support of Martin Amidu.
