Lets Strike Now And Kill The Wrecking Mosquito Once And For All - Kabila

The Coalition for Freedom and Justice, a pressure group, has challenged Ghanaians not to allow officials in high positions to get away with their irresponsible acts but rather demand serious accountability from them. A statement signed by the convener of the group, Kwabena Bomfeh Jnr, (aka Kabila) bemoaned the fact that the Mahama-led National Democratic Congress government had for a long time taken Ghanaians for granted. The statement particularly charged the masses to rise up and take the necessary action to prevent further looting of the public purse by officials of the government and their cronies. If we fail to act now for this government and their cabal of nation wreckers to taste the anger of the rather tolerant Ghanaian, they would never stop anywhere in adding salt to our bleeding injuries. They seem to have had too much laxity from the Ghanaian populace and like blood-fed mosquito dancing around us teasingly. If we fail to strike, the blood will soon dry out and they will return to our insensitive and docile body again and again. Lets strike now and kill the wrecking Mosquito once and for all, part of the statement read. The statement extolled the nine-member Supreme Court panel that, by a unanimous decision on Friday, June 14, 2013, ordered Waterville Holdings BVI Limited to pay back to the state all sums of money paid to it in respect of construction and rehabilitation of three stadia towards the Africa Cup of Nations, CAN 2008. According to the group, the buck does not stop with Waterville paying back the over 40m judgment debt. It therefore called for all persons involved in the approval and payment of the amount to be made to either resign or be sacked. All the ministers who sat in the cabinet that approved the payment through a budget arrangement, if are still at post, should be sacked from whatever capacities they fill now, the statement indicated. The Coalition for Freedom and Justice noted that the rate at which judgment debts were paid goes to show how the extent of negligence on the part of the Attorney-General can cause the nation millions of dollars. The statement pointed out that after the exit of Betty Mould Iddrisu as Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, the appointment of Benjamin Kumbour, who is currently the Majority leader, did little to help the state recoup the money. The statement contended that President Mahama, who was then the Vice President, cannot be detached from the judgment debts saga since he did little to defend former Attorney General Martin Amidu when he came under all sorts of attacks, especially from people within the NDC, when he declared his intention to fight the scandal.
