NPP Communicator: Oko Vanderpuye Does Not Deserve To Be The Mayor Of Accra

A member of the communication team for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Opoku Davies has expressed disappointment at the NDC governments communication machinery to have come out to accuse people for being responsible for the fire outbreaks without due diligence into the case to ascertain the cause of the fires. He said on Okay FM that, as President Mahama is doing his part to curtail and ascertain the cause of the fires in the country with the help of some US forensic team, others are in the media blaming the fire on other political parties; adding that if this disaster is reduced to blame game, it will then be difficult to disentangle the true cause of the fire outbreaks. According to him the fire outbreaks has no respect for any political party and so if such scourge will be blamed on others, then the Deputy Information Minister, Murtala Mohammed is irresponsible in his duty and does not understand his work as a minister. He added that the political emotions attached to the fire outbreak by politicians in the media makes one wonders if they are placing Ghana first in everything they do; stressing that as the President called for the forensic audit into the fire outbreak at Makola and Kantamanto, the Mayor in his own discretion raked the scene which would have helped the team to dig the cause of the fire. He further said that the evidence at the fire scene has been tampered with by the AMA boss and such serious issue has been covered with politics without condemning him for his action which will make it difficult for the team to fetch the clue they will need to draw their conclusion. He therefore said that Oko Vanderpuye does not deserve to be the mayor of Accra because he failed to do his work to help the President to find the cause of the fire outbreak which has rendered some Ghanaians unemployed; adding that Accra deserves a better person who has the zeal to make things happen and not the current mayor whose plans come after properties have been destroyed. He called on the Christian bodies in the country to offer fervent prayers for the country so that God will expose whoever is behind this calamity because the leaders are not doing anything about this case except blame game which are not providing solution to the fire menace.
