The National Women�s Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Anita Desosoo, has revealed that she was driven to tears when she heard reports that the 2012 NPP flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo, had been received at the home of NDC Founder Jerry John Rawlings prior to the elections. However, her tears were wiped away moments later, when a rainbow suddenly appeared in the clear blue sky to indicate the impending NDC victory. Ms Desosoo, who made the revelation on Adom FM�s Dwaso Nsem morning show, said news of the apparent betrayal of Mr Rawlings hit the campaign team at Nkwanta North, but the appearance of the rainbow was a sure indication that God had chosen John Dramani Mahama as President of Ghana. President Mahama at the weekend insisted that attempts by his political opponents to derail his presidency would fail because God had ordained him as a leader of Ghana. Speaking at a ceremony to mark the 20th anniversary of the Mount Horeb Victorious Church International at Mamfe in the Eastern Region, President Mahama said �what they (opponents) didn�t understand is that it is God who bestows leadership. During the campaign, I declared that it was not by my might that I was going to be president of Ghana but that He who is above�that is why they [opposition parties] still cannot understand why a person will use 40 days to win an election in a country.� The NDC Women�s Organiser said the NPP had done almost everything in the run up to the 2012 elections, including visiting their sworn enemy Mr Rawlings, in order to win votes, but they had still failed because �God was not with them. He had already chosen John Mahama.� �I wept, I really wept when I heard Akufo-Addo was in Rawlings�s house. I asked myself why, then I asked God why. All of a sudden a rainbow appeared in the sky. I believe it was God answering my question and telling me that he was with us and John Mahama would be President,� she told listeners. She described the ongoing election petition hearings at the Supreme Court as a waste of time, which would, however, not distract the President from delivering on his promise to make life better for all Ghanaians.
