CNC prepares for Founders Day

The Director of the Centre for National Culture (CNC) in Cape Cast, Mrs. Christiana Carl-Oparebea, has called on Ghanaians to take the celebration of the Founders Day seriously and make it a special day. She said, Ghanaians especially the government, should dig into the visions and plans which the founders had for the country and work towards it in order to help improve the country. Mrs. Carl-Oparebea said this recently at the night of a theatre and dance performances organized by the Cape Coast CNC as part of pre-activities toward the commemoration of the Founders Day scheduled for September, 21 to 28. The night, which was under the theme: Celebrating the Ordinary African: Nkrumah nie, Amambre nie, was not only for performances but also to seek for more sponsors and collaborators to support this years celebration. The theatre and dance performances performed by the staff of the CNC included a play written by James Ene Kenshaw which was titled: This is our chance. Mrs. Carl-Oparebea explained that the programme was to inform the general public that the CNC was very passionate and committed to having a very successful celebration this year. She said it intended to use the Founders Day as a key opportunity to interact with leading players in the field to help address the challenges and find innovative solutions to the creative industry in the Central Region. Mrs. Carl-Oparebea said the activities scheduled for the celebration would also include the coming together of all talented artists to bring their expertise to bear. She called on all the staffs of the CNC and the sponsors to bring together their resources to create an event which can be owned by the Central Region.
