A 42�YEAR�OLD welder, Baba Ami Mohammed was murdered on Saturday at the Zongo junction in Madina near Accra, by a gang of robbers who mistook his sack of banana for money.
According to a neighbour, Musah Abdullah, the deceased was returning from his family house at Nima to his residence at Madina at about 5am when the armed robbers rushed on him and snatched the sack of banana he was carrying .
Mohammed Umaru Awal, Musah�s younger brother, said they received an anonymous phone call from an eye-witness who narrated the incident. That prompted the family members to rush to the scene.
"Were it not the timely call of the anonymous person to the police and us, we would not have been aware of the incident,�� Mr. Awal stated.
