Asante-Akyem Rural Bank shows strong performance

The Asante-Akyem Rural Bank continues to show strong performance with its net worth now standing at GH2.9 million, Mr Opuni Sekyere, the Board Chairman, has said. Total assets of the bank as of the end of December, last year, also came to GH20.1 million. He said the share capital had hit GH400,000.00, far in excesses of the Bank of Ghanas (BOG) set minimum capital adequacy ratio requirement of GH150,000.00. Mr Sekyere said this when inaugurating the re-located Juaso Agency of the Bank at Juaso, in the Asante-Akim South District, at a ceremony. The re-location has become necessary to provide adequate space to give comfort to the increasing number of customers, who transact business with the bank. The Board Chairman said innovative products to address the financial needs of the people have made it more attractive and this explains the consistent impressive performance. He praised the people of Juaso and its surrounding communities for the patronage of its products and gave the assurance that it would live up to its corporate social responsibility. Mr De-graft Fokuo, the District Chief Executive, gave high marks to the bank for its contribution towards the growth of the local economy and urged its directors to continue to work hard to help bring down rural poverty. There should also be more collaboration between them and the district assembly to transform the socio-economic conditions of the population, he added.
