Ken Kuranchies Constant Prison Shift Is to Prevent Nana Akufo-Addo From Visiting

Director of Operations for Young Patriots of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hopeson Adoryeh has opined that the intimidation and harassment of Ken Kuranchie is under the influence of the executive powers in the country because of the way he has been criticizing the NDC government. He was of the view that the NDC government wants to pay the Managing Editor of the Daily Searchlight back, now that he is in the grasp of the law; adding that since he was sentenced to a 10-day jail term, he has been transferred for about five times for the past five days in prison. Hopeson Adoryeh said in an interview with Accra-based Hot FM, that the motive behind the constant transfer of Ken Kuranchie to different prison yards is difficult to understand; stressing that in the period of five days he was first taken to Police Headquarters cells and he was later sent to the Nsawam Prisons. He again said that the Nsawam Medium Prison could not hold him captive and so he was transferred to the Ho Prison; adding that two days after his stay in Ho, he was sent to Keta-Krachi and now back to the Nsawam Prison according to information he has received. He estimated that the treatment of Ken Kuranchie is more severe than that of popular notorious criminal, Atta Aryee whom he believes is enjoying his prison jail term in comfort at one particular place. He hinted that there is information that Ken Kuranchie will been sent to Salaga Prison before he is released finally. He further said that information reaching the Young Patriots indicates that the NDC government does not want the 2012 flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo- Addo to visit Ken Kuranchie, hence this mental torture from the government to frustrate him and make the NPP leader confuse about the particular prison the Managing Editor has been kept. He justified his accusation of President Mahama being behind the harassment of Ken Kuranchie because the President has the authority to give order to the Ministry of Interior which has power over the Ghana Prisons Service to give any instruction to the Prison Officers to carry out against Ken Kuranchie.
