4 Armed Robbers Grabbed

Four persons who robbed a victim after threatening ed to slash the throat of their victim with a machete have been arrested by the police in Accra. The suspects are, Sowah Tetteh,25;unemployed,Moses Mortei, 30; a taxi driver, Michael Adjei Osekre,24,Yaw Appiah 20,all residents of Teshie. DCOP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, the Accra Regional Police Commander briefing the press yesterday in Accra said on June 25, 2013 at about 2.30am, Sowah and Moses who were both armed with machete in a Nissan March taxi cab with the registration number GT6608-13 went to the house of the complainant Prince Adedoyin at Teshie Kiddy Care. Sowah according to the police scaled over the wall into the house of the complainant and threatened to slash him with the cutlass if he did not succumb to his demand whiles Moses waited at the entrance of the house. He said Sowah robbed the complainant of his two laptops, three mobile phones and cash of GH�250.the suspect not satisfied with the booty as result of that locked the complainant and two friends in a bathroom. DCOP Yohuno said Sowah later joined Moses in a waiting taxi and fled to Kwame Nkrumah Circle to sell the booty but was arrested in the process. During investigation, the suspects admitted robbing the victim and also confess having engaged in numerous robberies within Accra metropolis with Michael. The suspects further mentioned Yaw as the receiver of all the goods they obtained in their robbery expeditions. Yaw and Michael were later arrested by the police. In another development, a 50 year old blacksmith, Kwasi Ahiadalakpa has been arrested by the police forpossessing and manufacturing firearm without lawful authority. DCOP Yohuno said on July 4 at about 5am personnel from the Accra Regional Police Command acting upon information proceeded to Adoso in the Eastern Region and arrested the suspect. A search conducted in his shop led to the recovery of ten locally manufactured SB shot guns, five locally manufacture pistols, assorted tools used in manufacturing of weapons, seven empty cartridges, four live cartridges and five un-assembled SB shot guns.Upon interrogations, Kwasi claimed ownership of the weapons and that he is a licensed blacksmith, but failed to produce it.
