I Apologize For My Comments - Ken Kuranchie

Editor of the Daily Searchlight Newspaper Ken Kuranchie has apologized for comments he made after his release from jail. If in any way I have said anything that offends anybody, please let me apologize, he stated. Some members of the public have expressed reservations about Mr. Kuranchies comments after his release could cause his return to jail. However, Mr. Kuranchie has said his convictions remain steadfast despite spending 10 days in jail for contempt. When you hold on to conviction and believe that the convictions are right you should hold on to those convictions he stressed. In an interview with Citi News Mr. Kuranchie indicated that opinions are based on human convictions and therefore cannot be changed. It is not going to be possible for me to change how you feel about your religion. It is not going to be possible for me to change how you fill up with your thoughts. It is your opinion and it is not going to be possible for anyone he stated. He noted that it was fruitless for any institution to fight against the opinions of people. If anybody, any institution, any court in this country attempts to set out on that type of journey, it will be an extremely dangerous journey they are setting out. There is no court that can change my conviction because the fact that a pastor has spoken, the Omanhene has spoken, the Imam has spoken does not necessarily mean that what they said was right, he added.
