President John Dramani Mahama, has given the assurance that government would garner the necessary resources to help the country to maintain her pioneering position in the provision of electricity in the sub-Saharan Region. He said apart from South Africa, Ghana is the next leading producer of electricity and the highest connected country of electricity in the sub region. President Mahama made this known when he inaugurated a small town water project at Agave-Afedume in the Volta Region on Saturday. The President who took a day's visit to the southern parts of the Volta Region and Dawhwenya in the Greater Accra Region also inspected on-going projects. He inaugurated a community clinic and a police station at Agave-Afedume and inspected the Dawhwenya Rural Integrated Development project. President Mahama said although job creation is not a day's endeavour, government would continue to pursue policies that would create more opportunities for all categories of people in the country to enjoy comfortable lives. Nii Afotey Agbo, Regional Minister said government would not renege on its campaign promises to make every citizen comfortable irrespective of his or her geographical location. He appealed to Ghanaians to keep faith with the National Democratic Congress government to provide development projects in every corner of the country.
