Angry Kotoko Players Beat Supporter After Losing MTN FA Cup To Medeama

A loyal supporter of Kumasi based Asante Kotoko last Sunday was intimidated by some players and club officials after he had questioned the team why they lost the just ended MTN FA Cup to Medeama SC. Richard, after witnessing his clubs downfall to Medeama at the Accra Sport Stadium said he chanced upon the club bus at a Fuel Filling Station and queried the team why they showed up a poor performance. In an interview with PEACE POWER SPORTS on PEACE FM, Richard however said his constant questioning did not go down well with some of the players and was severely beaten for his utterances. Narrating the incident, he said after the match at the stadium, he went to a Fuel Filling Station to fill the tank of his Corolla S car and met the entire Kotoko team in their bus also filling their tank as well. According to him he went straight to the team bus and asked the players why they put up that poor performance during the match (MTN FA cup final). He added that after questioning them, almost all the players including some officials came out from the bus, pounced on him and attacked him physically, but for the intervention of former captain, Godwin Ablordey, it would have been worse. He said he never insulted them but added that all he asked was why they performed poorly against Medeama SC. Richard who still pledges his support for the club is wondering why the team would treat a supporter in such a manner. Kotokos 1-0 defeat came as a shock and marked another MTN FA Cup upset at the Accra Sports Stadium similar to three seasons ago when they lost to Nania FC.
