Frimpong Manso Calls For Sellas Tetteh To Be Made Long-Term Ghana U20 Coach

Ex-Ghana defender Frimpong Manso wants the Ghana Football Association to hand Sellas Tetteh long-term contract as national U20 head coach. Manso believes the former Rwanda national team coach has the magic wand and has carved a niche as the youth coach expert. Tetteh led Ghana to win bronze at the just ended 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup in Turkey despite making a poor start at the competition by losing their first two matches. Four years ago in Egypt, he etched his name into the history books by becoming the first man to lead an African side to win the FIFA U20 World Cup. In the same year, he won the African Championship-Ghanas third-in Rwanda. Manso, a former Ghana U17 coach, says Tetteh must be to handle every Ghana U20 in the years to come. If we look back at 2009 and what he did and what he has done this year then I think he has got something good to offer at this level, Manso said. For me it will be in the right direction if hes given 4 years or more in charge of the Black Satellites team. At the U20 level he has done very well so I will agree with anybody who says he should be given lets say four years mandate at that level.
