No Evil Will Befall Ghana But.

A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has expressed a contrary view to Dr Mensa Otabils ominous sensing of heaviness in spirit of something evil befalling the country if we do not pray to avert it, saying he strongly believes Ghanaians will never descend so low as to create chaos after the ruling by the Supreme Court on the election petition case. Asamoah Gyamfi believes prayers must be said not because of any imminent or the likelihood of a civil war occuring, but to draw one closer to God. The General Overseer of International Central Gospel Church (I.C.G.Cs) recent sermon of sensing something heavy befalling Ghana has generated some degree of condemnation from the public. With a prayerful voice on July 14, 2013, he said I have a sense of heaviness in my spirit concerning the destiny of this country that there is something heavy ready to fall upon this country - if we do not take charge of that we will be in a different state a month from now. We make these declarationsthere shall be no civil war in Ghanathere will be no military takeover in Ghanathere will be no bloodshed in Ghanathere will be no coup dtatthere will be peace in Ghanathe land shall have peace and restthere will be prosperity in Ghanaabundance in the name of Jesus, he stated during the prayer session. But the revelation has been misinterpreted in the public domain as some has described the man of God as Prophet of Doom and Coup Monger. However, speaking on Okay fm, Asamoah Gyamfi said prayers offered by Pastor Otabil was meant to cut off all negatives which might happen; admitting that if the right signals are not sent out, the possibility of a civil war cannot be swept under the carpet. He further indicated that Ghanaians have absolute confidence in the Supreme Court judges that the verdict they will deliver will be a true reflection of what actually transpired during the 2012 election; stressing that the loser will have to lick his wounds and move on. Ghanaians are now aware that the Supreme Court has the ultimate power in the country which can not be taken for grantedsome people, naturally, might not be happy with the final verdict, but i strongly believe it will not lead up to anything serious in the country, he added.
