A suspected armed robber has been shot dead following a robbery incident which occurred at Juabeng Rural Bank at Fumesua, Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
The incident occurred at about 9:30am, Tuesday when tellers of the bank had just started working.
According to our Ashanti regional correspondent, Sampson Nyamekye, four armed robbers using an unregistered salon car entered the bank, attacked the security officer on duty and asked for the money which had been collected the previous day as well as mobile phones of the tellers.
The Bufffalo team of the Police Service arrived on the scene following a hint and after a shoot-out, one of the suspects was killed and one more arrested.
The police intercepted guns, the salon car which was left at the bank and the mobile phones; however, the other two were able to escape with an amount of GH�6700.
Meanwhile, one of the tellers who immediately fainted upon seeing the armed robbers is still unconscious at the hospital while Agya Owusu the security man on duty at the bank has been admitted and is responding to treatment.
