This NDC Govt Is Unpopular Not The Sacked 33 MMDCEs

Policy Analyst and a member of the Peoples National Convention (PNC) has urged the dismissed 33 Metropolis, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to take their expulsion in good faith but hoped the newly appointed executives will soon experience a similar fate. Speaking on Oman FM on Tuesday, Atik Mohammed expressed regret in the Mahama administration which to him, has failed to adopt better initiatives to salvage the economy from its current situation. Atik Mohammed, commenting on the Presidents directive through the Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Akwasi Oppong Ofosu to relieve the affected MMDCEs of their posts, opined that the decision has exposed the incompetence of the incumbent government. He wondered why the MMDCEs have been asked to vacate their positions without possible replacements. To him, President Mahama should have first ensured that the MMDCEs absence from their workplaces would not create any vacuum before sacking them. The decision therefore tells how deep seated the unpopularity of this government is. The DCEs who have been sacked are not because of their personal unpopularity. It is because the government, itself, is unpopular. he stressed. In his view, such approach by government sends a message to the masses that it is a wicked government and its plans are flawed. They dont seem to make any sense. The impact is worse.
