Police Chase NDC MP

The Volta Regional Police Command has issue a statement declaring the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Nkwanta North John Oti Bless wanted, in connection to the burning of five government vehicles by some NDC supporters during a protest against the Presidents nominee for the District Chief Executive (DCE) position. Also declared wanted is the Nkwanta North NDC constituency secretary Joseph Wombe, and another constituency executive, Gando Mohammed, who are wanted to assist in police investigations with regards to rioting in the area last week. According to the Volta Regional Police Command, it has gathered fresh intelligence which points to the fact that the three persons mentioned may possibly have a hand in last Thursdays vandalism. But Secretary Joseph Wombe has described the allegations as ridiculous and denied any involvement in the rioting saying If the party wants me to suffer for something I have not (done), I will submit myself, for I know that I am innocent. Mr. Wombe also indicated that President Mahama has been diplomatically petitioned on several occasions against the re-nomination of Mr. Paul Levin Gyato, because they believed members of the party there were convinced the DCE would not achieve results for the party. He said the youth embarked on a chaotic demonstration after picking signals that the president intends giving the DCE anther four year term. The entire membership of NDC was peeved about the consideration and that necessitated the rampage by the youth. We will never relent until the right things are done. We will continue t let the President hear our votes that it is indeed paramount that we achieve the peace we are ultimately looking for, and in order to achieve that we need a change and that is what the majority of the people are saying, he said.
