There have been varying views on the performance of Lead Counsels representing the Petitioners and Respondents in the ongoing election petition case at the Supreme Court, after the submission of their oral addresses. Whiles some believe all the lawyers performed to creditably well, a Deputy Minister of Sports, Joseph Yammin, is of the view that if he was given the opportunity of to write an article on the events that unfolded in the apex court Wednesday, 7th August, 2013, he would headline it �Addison�s Day of Shame�. According to Mr Yammin, the lead counsel for the petitioners in the 2012 election trial, performed abysmally because he attempted to respond to what counsels for the three other respondents put forward instead of getting on with his submission. �if I�m allowed to suggest headlines, I will recommend �Addison�s day of shame� for one story�, he said. Joseph Yammin, who until his appointment to the Sports Ministry, was the Chief Scribe for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashanti Region, said he was therefore not surprised to see Philip Addison pleading for more time even after the thirty minutes allocated to the submission had elapsed. �Though he asked for twenty, he was given thirty minutes but he ended up asking for extra time. It was so interesting,� he said rather derisively. Speaking on AsempaFM, the deputy sports minister, said based on what transpired, he has come to the conclusion that the petitioners have no case. �As soon as I saw them (lawyers for the petitioners) jotting down points whiles Tsatsu Tsikata was making his oral address, I realized that Addison will not end up anywhere,� he added.
