Tigo Supports Ada Asafotufiam Festival

Mobile operators Tigo over the weekend made some donations to the Ada traditional council in support of this years Ada Asafotufiam festival. The donation comprised of an unspecified amount of money and assorted Tigo souvenirs. Speaking in Accra, Tigos Brand Communications Manager, Linda Narh said Tigo as a brand recognizes the significance history, arts and culture play in the lives of a people especially Ghanaians hence its resolve to support festivals as a way of projecting Ghanas rich cultural heritage. Beyond the donation to the traditional authority, Tigo has also committed to renovate the maternity ward of the Ada health centre to help improve the quality of health care delivery within the community. According to Mrs. Narh, for every festival that the Tigo team celebrates with the natives, this year, the team in consultation and collaboration with the traditional authorities within the area will embark on a CSR project that is most pressing to the needs of the people. This, Tigo believes will help indigenes recognize festivals as not only an opportunity to celebrate their culture but also, embark on developmental projects to improve their living conditions of the people within the community. Tigo, in collaboration with the Adom TV is celebrating this years festivals with the twelve different communities with a big musical concert dubbed TIGOFEST. Adom TVs concert party show will also tour a number of communities during the TIGOFEST to entertain and excite the locals. The Ada Asafotufiam festival is celebrated every year by the people of the Ada traditional council (which is made of Okansey kope, Big Ada, Adafour, Addakope, Kassieh, Hwakpo, Tsalekope, Ayamaame, Pute, Totope, Adadetsekope, Gorm, Atotokope). The festival is the remembrance of the achievements in the wars for settlement fought by their ancestors.
