Liberty Capital Holdings Ghana Limited (LCHGL) has been announced the Title Sponsor for the maiden edition of the Ghana StartUp Cup Business Model Competition on August 1, 2013. StartUp Cup is a global network of business model competitions designed to provide community-based long-term support to participating local entrepreneurs during their early growth phase. This proven model to build businesses and create jobs can be replicated in any community. The Director for Corporate Finance at Liberty Capital Holdings Ghana Limited, Mr. Francis Appiah said, they are proud to support Ghana StartUp Cup business model competition in its efforts to arm entrepreneurs with skills necessary to develop viable and successful businesses in Ghana. Liberty Capital Holdings Ghana Limited (LCHGL) which is incorporated under Ghana's Companies Code, 1963(Act 179) has two subsidiaries and these are; Liberty Securities Limited, a Ghana Stock Exchange Broker-Dealer firm, and Liberty Asset Management Limited, an Investment Advisory firm. Both subsidiaries are licensed by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Ghana (SEC). Mr. Nyame disclosed that this business model competition arms entrepreneurs with practical skills which will propel them from ground levels to the heights in business and challenge the Ghanaian community to support the diverse entrepreneurial climate. The Ghana StartUp Cup is an accredited member of the global network of locally driven business model competition opened to any type of business idea. It is a proven model to build feasible businesses, nurture entrepreneurial settings, and increase employment. Mr. Nyame said, the competitive process educates entrepreneurs on how to design a viable business model, develop customers, and accelerate their start-up into the marketplace through a comprehensive judging, coaching, and mentoring process. Since 2007 according to Mr. Nyame, StartUp Cup business model competition has contributed hugely to the successes of StartUps Globally and Ghana is not exempted from the over 40 countries worldwide to contribute to this development.
