National Women's Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Otiko Afisah Djaba has suggested the 2012 flag bearer of the party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo be considered for decoration with a Nobel Peace Prize. According to her, unlike other countries whose presidential candidates express their dissatisfaction with electoral outcomes by resorting to violence, the NPP leader rather decided to seek to go to court because of his commitment to peace. According to Nobel's will, the Peace Prize shall be awarded to the person who must have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses. The NPP National Women�s Organiser believes �for his humility and unbridled efforts at ensuring peace in the country� even after the 2012 election, Nana Addo must be named as a Nobel Peace Prize winner irrespective of the court�s decision. �After ensuring peace, one will agree that Nana Addo must be awarded with the Nobel Peace Prize because he has distinguished himself� even in the face of provocation and the beating of war drams by the ruling party,� she added. Madam Afisah-Djaba accused the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) of beating �war drams� even when the petitioners tries to explain why they are in court. �Initially, they (NDC) said we (NPP) have no case, from no case, they are now beating the war drums saying if the case is ruled in favour of the NPP, Ghana can�t contain us (Ghanaians). But remember the NPP members are humans, all this time the members who though feel aggrieved, have kept mute and are seeking court�s directives. ��the NDC in 2008 never had that patience; they went to the Electoral Commission (EC�s) head office demanding immediate declaration (of results) and beating war drams�saying Ghana will burn if they are not declared winners of the 2008 presidential election. Ghana did not burn, we are all in Ghana and seen the history of Ghana,� she said.
