Managing Editor of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Mr. Malik Kwaku Baako, has pointed out to his critics that he is not afraid of going to jail. According to him, those making it seem as if he has crossed the line of the Supreme Court; hence have to be summoned on the basis of contempt are just wasting their time. Kweku Baako is said to have accused the Supreme Court of being tactless in summoning the General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, aka Sir John and Hopson Adorye, a member of the NPP Communication team to appear before it on an Accra-based radio station, Saturday. He reiterated that if �their (critics) intention� is to draw the attention of the Supreme Court through various publications on newspapers and other media outlets, on the comments he made on Saturday, �they can do it ten times and over; I am not afraid of going to prison�. Contributing to panel discussions on Tuesday�s edition of Peace FM�s morning show �Kokrokoo� with host Kwami Sefa-Kayi, Kweku Baako said he is aware of the rules of the Supreme Court and that even the Judges will attest to the fact that what he said is not contemptuous. �I am not afraid (to repeat what he said); it is a fair comment�they (critics) can proceed to do it ten times over. I don�t think any serious court will consider that as a scandalisation of the court. In any case I am not afraid of prison. I have no fear at all for prison. I have purged it out of my system, ten thousand years ago� Kweku Baako said even though the authority of the court to issue the summons is not in dispute and their �legitimacy of the exercise they have embarked on is also not being challenged left to me, I would have wished that the court ignored all those noises�that is my opinion and feeling about this matter and it will never change�
