Pledges And Promises By Prez Mahama & Nana Addo To Maintain Peace Will Remain Naught Until

It is very obvious that Ghanaians pine for peace but the peace of the nation will only be possible if the major protagonists in the countrys political scene cut out the rhetoric and show by their actions that they are fully committed to peace. It is therefore in this respect that a member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Sarpong has implored the leaders of the two major political parties in the country to honour their words to Ghanaians. Speaking on Oman FM on Wednesday, the NPP loyalist advised President John Dramani Mahama and 2012 NPP Presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo, not to pay lip service to the commitment they have professed about the verdict of the court. According to him, the test of whether the country will maintain its peace or be torn into pieces will be proven when the nine-member panel gives its ruling on the pending election petition filed by the three NPP leaders in the persons of Nana Akufo Addo, his Running mate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the partys Chair, Jake Obetsebi Lamptey who seek to revoke the legitimacy of President Mahamas presidency. To him, the two leaders have to come out because we are looking up to them. Their supporters are looking up to them for direction. And if they fail to give that direction at that time, then they have failed this nation. All that they are saying that I will accept the results; I will do thisis nothing. It wont help us. The Police will go in and will kill people.
