Food In Polythene Is Bad

Mrs Praise Gonyuie, an Educationalist has cautioned parents against dispatching their young kids to school with lunch bought from the wayside packaged in polythene carrier bags. She said these hot foods, wrapped thus, often got stale at lunch and could expose the kids to tummy upsets, when consumed. Mrs Gonyuie gave the caution when management of the Higher Ground Academy, a private basic international school in Ho, met with parents of the pupils. She said besides the packaging, measures of ingredients, especially pepper, used in preparing these foods were often above limits tolerable by the kids. Mrs Gonyuie suggested that parents who did not have the time to prepare food and packaged it properly for their kids should patronize, where available, food prepared by designated persons only . She advised against the giving of money to the children to buy their own lunch, as many used those monies to buy sweets and biscuits and stay in school, without lunch.
