Alhaji Rashid Future, an opinion leader of Adoagyiri Zongo, has called on Muslim communities to stop engaging their children school-going age in early trading.
He said the practice promoted teenage pregnancy and destroyed the future of the children.
Alhaji Future, owner of Future Traditional Herbal Centre at Adoagyiri, near Nsawam, gave the advice at a recent meeting with residents of Adoagyiri Zongo to discuss the education of the youth.
He urged the youth to avoid being influenced by money as politicians could use them to cause trouble.
He said they should rather take their education seriously, adding; �without education your growth and development would be impossible.�
�Move yourselves away from trouble, particularly after the Supreme Court verdict on the 2012 election petition hearing,� he said.
Alhaji Future advised the youth to respect their teachers, parents and guardians and not to indulge in smoking of tobacco, alcoholism and other social vices so as to become useful citizens.
He appealed to the government to assist the community to construct an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) centre, library and vocational centres for the youth and pledged to donate 100 tables and chairs to the schools as his contribution to the project.
He said the project would save the students from travelling far to access educational and ICT facilities.
He called on Mr Frank Annoh Dompreh, Member of Parliament for the area, to support them to complete the project.
