Gyan: Im Happy To Rescue Ghana Against Turkey

The former Sunderland forward hit a double against the Crescent-Stars in a friendly on Wednesday to rescue the Black Stars from defeat in Istanbul. Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has said scoring two goals against Turkey when his side was down came as a huge surprise to him. Speaking after the 2-2 draw friendly game on Wednesday in Istanbul, the Al Ain goal appliance said he least expected to be the one to bag all the two goals, although he was positive the Black Stars will equalise. Every attacker likes to score in the game, but honestly I didnt expect these two goals, Gyan, who earned his 37-goal for Ghana against Turkey, said. The four-time Africa champions were two goals down in the first half, but it took the former Sunderland attacker, who came on in the second half to clear the deficit. They dominated the first half and were more aggressive. When I went on, the aim was to get an early goal before we can come back into the game. We got it and we had the belief but I wasnt expecting to be the one to score, I thought someone else would score. As an attacker when I score I am happy and at least I have rescued Ghana, Gyan stated.
