President John Mahama says government looks forward to establishing a flagship project with Burkina Faso in the area of energy. He stated that in the nearest future when Ghana becomes self-sufficient in energy supply, excess power will be exported to Burkina Faso. President Mahama outlined these plans when the out-going Burkina Faso Ambassador to Ghana and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Sini Pierre Sanou called on him at Flagstaff House to bid him farewell. Pierre Sanou has had a nine-year duty tour in Ghana. Mr. Sini Pierre Sanou lauded Ghana's warm hospitality that makes him feel like a Ghanaian. He also touched on the 11th Session of the Ghana-Burkina Faso Permanent Joint Commission for Cooperation scheduled for Ouagadougou next month. Also at the Flagstaff House to bid the President farewell was the German Ambassador, Dr. Mrs. Renate Schimkoreit. She has been in the country for nine months and cites private and health reasons for her short stay. Dr. Schimkoreit said her duty tour though short, was insightful as she visited all the regions in Ghana. President Mahama described Germany as a true friend as it has offered assistance in diverse areas to Ghana. Trade relations between Ghana and Germany stand at 1.25 billion Euros and Ghana is Germany�s biggest trading partner in the European Union.
