Criticize Constructively: NPP Youth Tells Nyaho And Others

The National Youth wing has noted with concern the questionable manner in which some persons hiding behind the cheap and nonexistent title as Leading Members, have sought to denigrate and bring the name and leadership of the party into disrepute in recent times. Reference is made here specifically to Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe and Arthur Kennedy among others, who have flagrantly defied protocol and laid down procedures by the party to get their grievances addressed. The constitution of New Patriotic Party in article 4 clearly outlines procedures by which all responsible and loyal members in good standing are expected to have their grievances about the party as a whole and individual members (either in leadership or ordinary) well taken care of. These are guiding principles to regulate the conduct of the entire members to exercise restraint and caution in handling grievances so that the good name of the party will be protected at all times. In addition, article 3(d) explicitly states the duties and responsibilities of members, which among others include the following (i). To protect and promote the good name of the party. (ii). To promote the unity of the party (iii). To be loyal and truthful to the party (iv). Abide by and publicly uphold the decisions of the party In our opinion, Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe and Arthur Kennedy have breached the aforementioned grievance procedures and their responsibilities as members. While we uphold our cherished democratic culture of free speech and the expression of personal opinions on issues within the party, we are against destructive criticisms that have the tendency to tarnish the image of the party and our able leadership. We also reckon that these crusaders have failed to uphold the principle of collective responsibility, which states we must swim or sink together. Arthur Kennedy and Nyaho Tamakloe have traded malicious criticisms and accusations with the implicit calculation to dent the party and scuttle any impending fortunes. The youth is questioning the motivation of the self-styled purgers of the party. We want to also question why their commitment and loyalty have suddenly waxed could since John Mahama became president. We recognized the importance of members and their positive contribution to the partys progress and strength. We are however apprehensive of the clandestine behaviours by such people pontificating to hold sacred opinion and attempting to purge the party and leadership of wrongdoing. When the party was preparing to go to court to seek redress in the wake of the fraudulent 2012 presidential elections, Nyaho Tamakloe came out to say that we have no evidence to back our case. Such people cannot claim to love and be committed to Partys course. Their actions and comments can only pass for self-centeredness and motivations inimical to the party unity and fortunes now and in the future. The Youth Wing calls on all loyal members to demonstrate maturity, good faith and circumspection in their comments on matters of the party to the public. We implore all members especially the youth, to use the approved channels within the party in addressing their grievances. We accept and encourage criticisms that are constructive.
