Kumasi Girls Chase Addison

Lead counsel for the petitioners, Philip Ato Addisons excellent display during the hearing of the 2012 election petition at the Supreme Court, has won him scores of female admirers in Kumasi. Several women in the Garden City especially the single ones hankering to get married anytime soon, are on the heels of the top lawyer, possibly for him to lead them to the altar. This interesting development had arisen after Lawyer Addison disclosed, pathetically, during an interview with Kessben FM that his wife had passed on. Several women in the city who listened to the interview started bombarding Omanhene and his producer Confidence K. Baah, immediately after the show, with phone calls, asking for the telephone number of Mr. Addison. Most of the women who called by the phone sounded desperate as they begged me in the name of God to give the number of Mr. Addison to them, Confidence told Daily Guide. According to him, almost all the women who called his line did not mince words, as they stated that they were single so they wanted to chat with Mr. Addison to verify if he would be interested in them for a relationship leading to marriage since he is single. Confidence said he had since the interview, which was aired last Thursday received about 60 calls from women, adding that he could not confirm the number of calls that Omanhene had also received on his phone. He disclosed that he politely refused to give the number of Lawyer Addison to any of the women who called his mobile phone, noting that he was utterly shocked at the love affection that women in Kumasi had developed for Lawyer Addison. Mr. Addison, during the interview, disclosed that he could hardly go to public places now after the court case, saying that people just rush to catch a glimpse of me whenever I go out. The Mfantsipim old boy, said the petitioners prepared well for the election petition and this reflected in the excellent output that they exhibited in the Supreme Court during the hearing. Lawyer Addison disclosed that he often slept in his office during the four month period that the case lasted in court, nothing that the petitioners has given their all in court and the rest is now in the hands of the Justice. He debunked assertion in Kumasi that he was picked from abroad by the petitioners to lead them in court, stressing that he was practicing as a lawyer in Accra before the matter in the Supreme Court started. Lawyer Addison disclosed further that, as a lawyer, he had worked with Nana Akufo-Addo on several occasions so the NPP flagbearer knew he was capable and hence settled on him to lead the petitioners in court. According to him, he was humbled to be called upon to lead such seasoned lawyers in the petitioners team at the Supreme Court, nothing that he would never forget such an experience in his life. Lawyer Addison denied ever bullying Electoral Commission (EC) boss Dr. Kwadwo Afari-Gyan probing questions that would force him to tell the truth. He said there was no animosity existing between lawyers of the petitioners and the respondents, stating that after the court hearing, we see ourselves as friends and professionals working for our various clients. Layer Addison said he would find time to visit Kumasi and officially thank the people in the city for their staunch support to the petitioners. This was after host of the programme had told him that his popularity in Kumasi keeps soaring by the day.
