Ayikoi Otoo Chide Veep: He Should Be Charged For Contempt

Hardly did Ghanaians hear Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur, comment on the NPPs petition when it was before the Supreme Court. Thus, it came as a surprise when the unassuming vice president passed remarks after the final ruling, which some felt were inappropriate. He took a subliminal shot at the petitioners by wondering why the Supreme Court was not unanimous in dismissing all the pleadings which were brought before them by the petitioners. After the Supreme Court had dismissed the petitioners case by a majority decision, Vice President Amissah Arthur told the press at the Flagstaff House that: Ive never doubted that this will be the outcomeIm surprised that it wasnt 9-0 9-0 throughout. But editor of the New Crusading Guide, Mr. Malik Kweku Baako is of the view the veep's comments were in bad taste considering the timing. Mr. Baako advised Vice President Amissah- Arthur on Joy FM not to focus his attention on national issues and avoid propaganda since it would mar his persona.
