Samuel Etoos Farewell Speech

The Indomitable Lions skipper Samuel Etoo announced his retirement from international football to his teammates on Sunday, after Cameroons 1-0 victory over Libya at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers. Present in the changing room during the farewell ceremony, journalist Joseph Valry Fotso revealed to Camfoot the strikers last words to his national team. Thank you guys. Thanks to all of you for what you have done for me. It is thanks to you, to everything we have achieved together, that I am where I am today. I am now leaving you, said Etoo. You chose Nicolas Nkoulou as your new captain. Support him and stand by him. In all families there are problems, there are times of difficulty. The most important is to be able to cope. Stick together. The future belongs to you. You know that around us people talk too much. Do not listen to gossips. I am leaving you and I am convinced that there is a great Cameroon team in the making. May God protect you and I wish you good luck, declared Samuel Etoo before praying to the Lord to protect my young brothers. Okay, I am leaving you. I wish you good luck and I hope that you will reach your goals, added the player, who holds 110 caps after 16 years in the Lions den.
