3 Arrested Over Sodomy Pastor

The father of the 14-year-old boy, who was allegedly infected with HIV by Pastor Prince Mark, has been arrested together with two other persons for unknown offence. The three are currently languishing in three separate police cells in Accra The names of the three, who were picked up by the police last Wednesday, a day before the pastor appeared again at a Tema Circuit Court, are being withheld. But Daily Guide was reliably informed that the arrest of the three was in line with a calculated attempt to stall the sodomy case for which the supposed man of God is facing trial. Medical report confirmed that the man of God has HIV and that he infected the boy after he (pastor) sodomised him. Acting upon a tip-off from sources in the area, where the three arrested persons reside and checked with police stations, Daily Guide can confirm that more than three days after their arrest, no caution statement had been taken from any of them including the father of Prince Marks victim. The boys father, who is a policeman stationed at Kpone Police Station, was detained when he reported for work last Wednesday and subsequently transferred to an unnamed Accra police station where he is currently being held in custody. The two other persons, a policeman and a civilian, were reportedly arrested about the same time the father of the 14-year-old was arrested. Surprisingly, no explanation was given to them as to why they were being arrested. All they were told was that they were being arrested upon orders from authorities, who wanted them to be detained for investigations. A deep-throat source suggested to Daily Guide that the three were arrested because they were seen as key witnesses in the ongoing sodomy case involving Prince Mark and also a pretext to grant Prince Mark bail. It is believed that their arrests were being orchestrated by relations of the shamed pastor, who were reportedly bent on ensuring that the father of the 14-year old boy and his friends were punished for exposing the religious leader. One of the arrested persons is said to have actually helped settle a sodomy case involving Prince Mark at the Tema Regional Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) and expressed shock at the turn of events, especially after his arrest last Wednesday. Beating The three, Daily Guide gathered, had been subjected to severe beatings in order to extract confession from them as being part of a robbery syndicate. This has inflicted some injuries resulting in scars on the fathers back and other parts of his body. The other policeman, whose caution statement was only taken three days after his arrest, was reported to have told his relations that he did not know why he was arrested and detained. Attempts by his relations to find out why he was being detained proved futile, as the reason for the arrest of the three persons kept changing. Prince Mark was arrested after a complaint was lodged with the Tema Regional DOVVSU by the father of the minor, whom he sodomised in his house after he (Pastor Mark) had requested the father, a member of his New Jerusalem Religion, to allow the little boy to live with him during vacation. He was subsequently arrested and put before court which did not hesitate to give an order for a medical examination to be carried on the suspect to ascertain his HIV status. The court was later informed by prosecution that the result proved positive.
