Right-thinking members of society are beginning to question the authenticity of claims by the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) that some unnamed journalists are on the payroll of the Union�s Public Relations (PR) team.
Doubts of the authenticity of this claim have become an issue of concern especially when MUSIGA has not provided a single name of any journalist to back its claim.
It could be that MUSIGA simply has no names to provide.
The Union under the leadership of Bice �Obuor� Osei Kuffour, recently came under serious pressure to provide names of supposed journalists who formed part of the union�s PR team.
Entertainment pundits and several journalists have concluded that the Union�s inability to provide the identity of these journalists as requested simply meant that monies were probably being paid to �ghost names�.
According to some key players in the entertainment industry, it is impossible for a Union that has been struggling to manage its corporate image and several issues ranging from accountability, through mass resignation to poor communication among others to have a PR team including journalists.
News One investigations also can confirm that since the beginning of the year, the Union has been struggling to put up a well-structured PR team to handle its affairs.
Perhaps this is one of MUSIGA�s style of explaining its expenses.
Meanwhile all attempts to get Obuor or any other MUSIGA executive to speak on the issue have proven futile.
