Samsung BBM Free App On Hold

Last week Samsung announced that BBM, the mobile social network, will be available for Samsung GALAXY Smartphones as a free download from the Google Play store. Due to technical integration concerns, BBM has withheld the applications release to all Android users across Africa, and has paused the availability until these technical aspects have been fully addressed. Samsung will advise customers on when these have been resolved. George Ferreira, VP and COO of Samsung Electronics Africa comments, We are in constant communication with BBM, who continues to undergo extensive testing to ensure that the quality of the user experience remains top priority before the application is added to the Google Play store, for our customers in Ghana and across Africa. We have been assured that their team is working around the clock to make BBM available to Samsung Android customers. In order to ensure that Samsung users enjoy the Samsung experience to which they have become accustomed to, we urge consumers to be cautious of imitation or fake BBM applications currently available for download. Samsungs current Messaging Hub networks remain unaffected and still offer consumers a variety of ways to chat and socialize including Samsung ChatOn, Whatsapp and WeChat services. Samsung GALAXY Smartphone users can also register for updates at:www.bbm.com. BBM for Android will be compatible with GALAXY smartphone devices that run Android 4.0 (Ice-Cream Sandwich) and above. Data charges may apply, as determined by local operators and service providers.
