NPP Man Commits Suicide With Party Flag

A twenty-five year old driver who is a committed New Patriotic Party (NPP) faithful, Douglas Kwaku Hededzi has committed suicide by hanging himself with an NPP flag which he tied to a mango tree in his uncles farm. When the Daily Heritage got to the scene with the Suhum Police team, the late Douglas was found hanging with blood oozing from his nostrils and mouth down to his shirt. He stood on two yellow gallons, popularly known as Kufuor gallon to waste his life under circumstances that were not clear to reporters at the scene. The deceaseds father, Stephen Hededzi, popularly known as Fanti told the paper that his son came back from Accra last month and lived with his aunt in the same area. He said Douglas soon started working as a driver of Tete Atempon Herbal and Spiritual Centre and usually visited him for meals before going back home. According to the father, last Wednesday evening, one of his sons came to inform him that Douglas was behaving like a mad person so I quickly went to the aunties house and raised alarm for help. He said neighbours came around and helped pour water on him until he got okay. His son later disappeared and efforts to reach him yielded no results. On Monday morning I went to a friends funeral only to hear from my daughter that Douglas has hanged himself. Mr. Hededzi said he suspects foul play since his son won a land dispute before his untimely demise. The Suhum Police Commander, DSP Samson Anane Appiah later told the paper that Douglas is believed to have hanged himself on Friday without anyone in the village getting to know about it until yesterday. He said the body will be sent to the Police Hospital in Accra for post mortem and further investigations.
