MTN Adjudged Overall Best In HR Practice In Ghana

MTN, Ghana�s leading telecoms service provider in voice and data services, received the Overall Best Organization in Human Resource Practice in Ghana at the maiden Ghana HR Conference and Excellence Awards held at the La Palm Beach Hotel over the weekend. The criteria for selecting the overall winner was based on standards that conform to best HR practice and centered on a demonstrated history and evidence of best HR management. The standards include: General HR practices, Human Resource Management Philosophy, Strategic HR Management HR Function Visibility and HR Practices Documentation. MTN Ghana stood tall in all of the set criteria and was adjudged the Overall Best Organization in HR practice. The HR Excellence Award was organized by HR Focus Magazine in partnership with the Institute Of HRM Practitioners Ghana, under the theme �Achieving Excellence through Human Resource Optimization�. In a statement, the Human Resource Executive of MTN, Mrs Amma Benneh-Amponsah, said� �this award is dedicated to the management and staff of MTN who have contributed immensely to shaping the human resource structures of the organization through constant feedback and cooperation to ensuring that the right working environment is created for effective delivery�. �We appreciate this honor done us by the organizers of the excellence awards and we will not rest on our oars but strive to use innovative strategies to continue exhibiting best HR practices and ultimately remain the benchmark for HR practice in Ghana�, Mrs Benneh-Amponsah added. MTN Ghana currently employs over One Thousand Six Hundred (1,600) direct staff across the country and also creates jobs for over 500,000 persons through its supply chain. It has also trained staff who are currently serving in senior positions i in other countries within the MTN Group.
