A Jamaican national, Raul Cliff is in custody for cultivating marijuana.
Mr Kartey Otumi, Hohoe Divisional Police Crime Officer said the suspect, who is married to a Ghanaian had cultivated more than two acres of the substance ostensibly for export.
He said a search and destroy taskforce retrieved two sacks of dried leaves suspected to be wee from the suspect, leading to his arrest and arraignment.
The consignment has been sent for forensic examination while the suspect reappears in court again on October 15.
