Chief and one other dies in road crash

Two males, including the Chief of Dzodze in the Ketu-North District died on Thursday, when a bus they were travelling on crashed with an oncoming vehicle at Akatsi, on the Accra �Aflao Highway. The police did not give the name of the chief on but named the other dead persons as Anthony Azilavi, 35, said to be a member of the District Water Board. Twelve others including the driver and one other person on the other vehicle were injured and are on admission at the Akatsi-South District Hospital. Superintendent of Police Dennis Fiakpuie, in charge of the Akatsi District Police told the Ghana News Agency that the bus was travelling from Dzodze to Accra, while the other vehicle, was travelling the opposite direction. He said on reaching a spot near the Akatsi-South District Assembly, the bus was hit by the other vehicle, which veered into the opposite lane to avoid hitting a motorbike. The two bodies have been deposited at the Saint Anthony�s Hospital morgue at Dzodze.
