Stanbic Bank introduces workplace banking service

Stanbic Bank Ghana has commenced a Workplace Banking service to help relieve workers of the hassle of spending productive time in the banking halls. The service allows customers of the bank to undertake their transactions from their offices. However, cash and cheque deposits would be handled in the bank for safety reasons. Speaking to journalists in Accra, Nana Dwemoh Benneh, Head Personal and Business Banking, Stanbic, said the Workplace banking was designed to expand the reach of the bank's distribution network by creating a proactive sales strategy that efficiently acquires new customers. To give meaning to the service, the bank currently has in place a mobile banking team, which could assists clients using their IPADS to provide convenience and complement the rich suites of products, including home loans. Nana Benneh said once institutions sign on to the workplace service, the employees were qualified to enjoy benefits such as low interest rates on loans while a dedicated team is assigned to visit the organizations to meet the banking need of the employees. �This is a flexible banking service and all that the employers need is to sign on for their employees to enjoy the benefits such as discounts and lower interest rates,� he said. He said that the service would be beneficial to both employer and employees, in terms of minimizing disruption of work, as it could be customized to the peculiar needs of the organization and the employees. He said Stanbic bank would continue to use more electronic channels and that the bank had made heavy investments in systems to prevent fraud. Mr Mawuko Afadzinu, Head of Corporate Affairs, Stanbic, said the bank's switch account promotion �had succeeded in opening about 17,400 funded accounts.� �We will keep pushing to extend the frontiers of banking and urged customers who still want to switch to visit the bank for assistance,� he added.
