A Former Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who is looking forward to unseating Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, as Chief Scribe of the party has stated that he has a better message that resonates with the party supporter. According to Yaw Buabeng Asamoah, Sir John has the burden to let delegates know what he has done for the party, over the last four years. �He has to justify his message. The message is accountability because you are the incumbent. You were given an opportunity to run the party; the party has certain goals and objectives. Key strategic goal, being the acquisition of power in order to change the circumstances of Ghana and not to just acquire power�. �So if we are not in power now, you need to account for why we are not in power. My message would be focused on the future. A vision, how we can win power and being in power and not winning power and not being in power. We cannot continue to win power and continue to be in opposition. We have to win power and actually receive the authority of the general public,� he argued. Yaw Buabeng Asamoah, who has served the party in many capacities over the years, made these comments on Metro TV during a panel discussion on an interview Sir John, the sitting General Secretary of the NPP granted The Enquirer Newspaper. In an interview with The Enquirer, Sir John claimed that when he became the party�s General Secretary in 2010, �most of the members, supporters and sympathizers of the party were down because of our defeat in 2008, but I managed to put their spirits high�. He further opined that �if we know we won the 2012 election, then there is the need to maintain the winning team towards 2016�. But Lawyer Buabeng Asamoah wants the delegates of the NPP to vote for him instead because he has the capabilities to deliver a win and power the party is fighting for in order to better the lives of all Ghanaians.
