If there is any state institution that needs an immediate overhauling, then all attention must be on the National Commission for Civic Education, a renowned lawyer has observed. According to Dr. Maurice Ampaw, the institution is simply not keeping up with its tasks. He compared the effectiveness of paid workers at the NCCE to members of the Jehovah Witness Church, and concluded that the commission is underperforming as against preachers who go about everyday spreading the word of God. As a public advocate who believes in selfless sacrifices, he rated officials at NCCE to workers who had no passion for the job. According to him, the NCCE should have hurriedly jumped on board and educated the general public on the election petition verdict which was recently delivered by the Supreme Court. Dr. Ampaw noted in an interview with OkayFM that before the verdict was delivered, he personally devoted his time and was on TV3 on daily basis to educate the public. He added that he never demanded for monies but did that because he knew it will be beneficial to the entire nation. In his view the NCCE has now become a �vampire�, sucking huge sums of monies from the state for no work done. He finally called on government to quickly step in and redefine the roles of officials who head the state institution.
