The wife of the Vice President, Matilda Amissah-Arthur, has commended Newmont Ghana Gold Limited for supporting the health and other aspects of the lives of the people in the communities where they operate. She however stressed that the company should not only stop at the payment of compensation to people affected by its operations but go on to mentor them to ensure that they are better off than before the advent of Newmont. Mrs. Amissah-Arthur was speaking when she, on behalf of Newmont presented assorted hospital equipment valued at two million dollars to the Acherensua health centre and five other health facilities in the Asutifi area.
