The positive contribution by the All Nations University College (ANUC) has been recognized by Africa Media Consult, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) which has commended the management of ANUC for being the first accredited private University in the country to pioneer the establishment of Biomedical Engineering. The Executive Director of Africa Media Consult, Mr Michael Nana Ampong noted that the programme, would equip students with a sound foundation in biomedical engineering to enable them to play a critical role in biomedical research to enhance the health status of Ghanaians. �The group applauds the ANUC for being a trailblazer in pioneering the establishment of Biomedical Engineering, which has been dubbed one of the strongest on the continent,� he stated. He said the University since its establishment had provided more Science programmes critical for the nation's economic development, which include Biomedical Engineering, Oil and Gas Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering and Space Science and Satellite Technology. They are the first University in Ghana to have launched a deployable cansat (mini satellite). The All Nations University College was established in 2000 with 37 pioneering students to pursue Business Administration and Computer Science in undergraduate programmes, but presently it has more than 2,500 students. Mr Ampong said the Africa Media Consult is proud of the recognitions and awards received by the institute including World Quality Commitment (WQC) award in the Gold Category bestowed on the All Nations University College in Koforidua by Business Initiative Directions (BID) in Paris. It was in recognition of the university�s unique leadership and excellence in providing high standard tertiary education. Last year, the University was adjudged the most prestigious University in Ghana while. Petroleum Experts based in Edinburgh, Scotland and Houston, USA, has awarded �1, 072, 970 worth of educational software Maintenance fee to the University�s Oil and Gas Engineering Department. Petroleum Experts is a consulting firm and petroleum engineering software Development Company. The software, which includes PROSPER, GAP, PVTP, MBAL, REVEAL, RESOLVE, HARDLOCK and Open Server, is the industry standard for integrated field modelling and production optimisation and is the main tool used by British Petroleum (BP), Shell, Exxon Mobil, ConocoPhillips and many other leading petroleum companies to locate and efficiently produce petroleum resources. All Nations University is among the few Universities Accredited to run Courses in Oil and Gas.
