NDC Activist Calls For Expansion Of Electoral College

Mr Abdul Nasir Saani National Democratic Congress (NDC) activist, has called for the expansion of the electoral college of the party to enhance grassroot participation during the pending congress to elect national leaders. He explained that although the expansion would come with a cost, it is more useful for the party to do so as more party faithful would subsequently feel that they belong to the NDC. Mr Saani popularly known as BUNAS, who was speaking to Ghana News Agency on his decision to contest the Upper West Regional Chairmanship of the NDC, in Accra, said the current situation, which allows only few selected people to vote for leaders in the party, is not representative enough. This he said leads to acrimony among party members. He said if elected as regional chairman he would inject dynamism into the youth who are yearning for change. Mr Saani said although the current leadership of the party had played their part in the growth and development of the party, there is bitterness due to lack of information flow, which he pledged to rectify if elected. The Businessman and Politician promised to help create jobs for the youth and foot soldiers of the party. The strength of every political party lies in its base and that is what I want to do for my party in the coming years, he said.
