President John Mahama has given all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCE�s) an ultimatum to complete the street naming exercise and numbering of houses in their areas or face dismissal. President Mahama issued the directive to all MMDCE's and the Local Government Ministry months ago to complete the nationwide exercise within 18 months. The exercise has started with pilot programmes in the Ashanti and Western regions. But the President who was speaking at the opening of an orientation programme for the MMDCEs in Accra, charged them to meet the deadline. �You are drivers of development and change in your districts and that is why I don�t understand why our streets have still not been numbered. The extent to which MMDCE's will continue to stay in office will depend on how diligently you apply yourself to the street naming and house numbering exercise,� the President stressed.
