Mahama Not A Superman Kofi Adams

Deputy General Secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams, is calling for a collective effort in the fight against corruption in the country. He said fighting corruption should not be limited to government rather, we need a concerted effort from all across to be able to deal with acts of corruption, noting that the president is not a "superman" to identify all the institutional weaknesses but has proven beyond reasonable doubt that he [Mahama] is stemming out the canker. Kofi Adams was reacting to claims by the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie that President Mahama does not have the antidote to fight corruption. Sir John as he is popularly called, alleged that the president lacked the political will in fighting corruption because he [Mahama] would be implicated. But Kofi Adams on Asempa FMs Ekosii Sen programme Wednesday, said President Mahama has made corruption an unenviable option for anyone in government. According to him, the president since assuming power, has strengthened anti-corruption units like CHRAJ and Economic and Organized Crime Organization (EOCO) to discharge their duties effectively and efficiently. How on earth can anybody say such a person is not determined to fight corruption", he quizzed. The NDC Deputy General Secretary bemoaned the unnecessary politicization of corruption issues which he noted, have affected the socio-economic development of the state. Kofi Adams said even though President Mahama is duty-bound to stem out corruption, it is imperative that everyone irrespective of party affiliation, to take concrete steps to root out the canker.
