Man Gets Cutlass Wounds For Touching the Daughter Of A Queenmother

A 42-year-old fisherman, who inflicted cutlass wounds on his friend at Apemenim in the Ahanta West District of the Western Region, has been arrested by the police in Agona-Nkwanta together with two accomplices. The suspect, James Thompson, also called Ekow Fred, allegedly inflicted cutlass wounds on the victim, George Ahinful, 32, because the latter allegedly hit the buttocks of 17-year-old Beatrice Esuman, daughter of the queen mother of the area. ASP Olivia Ewurabena Adiku, the Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), who disclosed this to Daily Guide, narrated that on November 5, 2013 at about 10pm, the victim, George Ahinful went to the store of Nana Eduaful, the queen mother. She said whilst there, the daughter of the queen mother, Beatrice came around and Ahinful allegedly hit her buttocks with his hand. The Police PRO pointed out that the queen mother took offence at his conduct and allegedly slapped the victim. ASP Adiku indicated that James Thompson, a friend of the queen mother, emerged from nowhere and confronted the victim, which resulted in a fight but they were later separated. The victim left the scene to report the incident to the police but about 50 meters away from the queen mother�s store, the suspect attacked him again. Thompson allegedly struck Geroge Arhinful with the cutlass several times on his arms. According to the victim, the queen mother and the daughter also hit him with sticks during the attack. A report was made to the police and the suspects were arrested. They are currently in police custody pending further investigations while the victim is on admission at the Effia Nkwanta Hospital in Sekondi.
